Belman Flexibles India engineered and manufactured four Gimbal Expansion Joints and two Hinged Expansion Joints for installation in a Steel plant in India.

CLIENT ISSUES
For the steam piping system in their steel plant the client needed to accommodate the thermal movements generated by the operations. Therefore the client was looking for in total six Expansion Joints designed to accommodate the angular movements.

BELMAN FLEXIBLES INDIA SOLUTION – 4 Large Gimbal Expansion Joints & 2 Hinged Expansion Joints

To ensure the client the optimal solution Belman Flexibles India designed 4 pcs.  2400 NB Gimbal Expansion Joints and 2 pcs. 2400 NB Hinged Expansion Joints to accommodate the angular movements generated under operations. Expansion Joints with hinges allow angular movement in a single plane with the pressure thrust forces being restrained from the bellow. Hinges prevent the bellows from axial deflection. A Gimbal Expansion Joint contains two sets of hinges, which are connected to a central gimbal ring/box by four pins, thereby allowing angular rotation in any plane. The pair of hinges restrains the unit from transferring pressure thrust forces to any external equipment. Gimbal Expansion Joints can be installed in sets to absorb large movements.
